BMW 3 e36 sedan, coupe, cmpact enginesAs the E30 3 Series established itself as a full line including compact coupes, sedans and convertibles. The 3 Series quickly became the envy of the the industry with likes of the Cadillac Cimarron and Audio 4000 Quattro were nothing more than cheap imitations. BMW was now faced with replacing a perfect specimen, anything short of that would hail big time sales danger.

The E36 brethren to the E30 was a jump forward in body styling with different proportions and styling breaking out of the details established by the 2002, this was an all new machine.

Back in 2008, we were at the Chicago Auto Show for the unveiling of the BMW M3 GT2. It was the first time we had the opportunity to see the M3 racing car and also learn about the new BMW Rahal Letterman Team. Yesterday, over  a year later, for the first time we attended an American LeMans race, an event which took place at Road America in Elkhart, Wisconsin.

And for the first time, BMW Rahal Letterman scored the program’s first victory with a 1-2 finish. We’re glad we were part of the BMW Motorsport history in the U.S and we would like to thank BMW North American and BMW Rahal Letterman team for allowing us to attend the event and live an unique experience. As usual, we have some great photos and videos from this race and we will have them available to you within the next few days.

There are rumors and then there are controversial rumors and of those ones revolves around the future BMW M5 which will launch in 2012. For months there have been several reports that BMW is shifting their M cars towards turbo engines and the M5 will make no exception. But the plot thickens around this model, especially when people close to the company speak of the testing stage where two engines are being scrutinized: V8 and V10 twin-turbo engines.

The V10 engine is based on the V8, but features two extra cylinders. Two gearboxes are being considered, an updated 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DCT) or a more advanced 8-speed SMG. Speculations around the M5 have already begun with many people mentioning a power output of 550 horsepower or more.

These past two days, we had the privilege to attend our first American LeMans race at the beautiful and fast Road America track. Being part of the media can have some advantages….. sometimes…. and BMW North America Motorsport has invited us to join them for this event, an event that coincided with their first ALMS GT2 win since the BMW Rahal Letterman has launched.

If last weekend BMW scored a podium at Mid-Ohio, this time, team took it all. Tommy Milner/Dirk Mueller and Joe Hand/Bill Auberlen won the top positions after an exact race controlled entirely by them from the beginning until the finish flag.

BMW 2011 Series 1The 2011 BMW Series 1 have been cought on lot of spy pictures.

The turbo diesel engine of 2011 BMW 1 Series comes with 150, 184, and 211 horsepower. People expects to come with a xDrive sytem and the power to be 78 kW and 243 kW. People expects also a hybrid model.
Used BMW z series - E36/7 & E36/8 (Z3)Z3 was the first modern BMW roadster, as well as the first new BMW car assembled in the United States. BMW Z3 was introduced as a 1996 model year vehicle, shortly after being featured in the James Bond movie, GoldenEye. There were a few variants of the car before its production run ended in 2002, including a coupé version for 1999. It was manufactured and assembled in Spartanburg, South Carolina. BMW Z3 was replaced by the BMW Z4 introduced in late 2002 at the Paris Auto Show.

BMW Z3 was developed from the E36 platform of the BMW 3 Series. The resulting platform is sometimes referred to as the E36/7(roadster) or E36/8(coupé). The rear semi-trailing arm suspension from the E30 was used rather than the more sophisticated multilink suspension from the E36. At first, only the 1.9 L M44B19 straight-4 engine was offered, but its 138 hp (103 kW) was not up to buyers' expectations. Interior appointments too were not up to the standard of other BMW models, and the plastic rear window looked poor compared to the glass unit found on the much less expensive 1999 Mazda MX5.
