BMWx6 Hybrid
The technology behind the BMWx6 Hybrid has been in the works since 2005 during the time that BMW joined collectively with Daimler Chrysler and General Motors. Pooling resources the auto giants began development upon hybrid technology intended as a basis for vehicles of the future. It is expected that the X6 will have a 350 HP 4.8 liter V8 power plants which is currently supplied with the X5. The vehicle is in fact intended to be taken to the off road status.
The full hybrid is active in American in the form of the Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Chrysler Aspen or the Dodge Durango. These various models have been X6 hybridized already. The dual mode motors, associated batteries, the gear sets and its sophisticated software tend to add 20% to the vehicles fuel efficiency improvement.
North America's BMW CEO stated that he really does not feel that BMWx6 Hybrid owners will need to worry about the fuel consumption of these cars. He further clarifies that the newest entry, the series 7 not only can travel fast but it uses considerable less fuel in the process.
The BMWx6 Hybrid is only another sample of how the BMW Company is maintaining its focus on luxury and performance while still integrating its steady fuel efficiency improvements.
