Engine tuning begins with an admission and air release: the motor needs to "breathe". We put on an admission the filter of zero resistance, and for release at least direct-flow back to "bank". It is even better to establish completely direct-flow system, beginning from a collector to back "banks".
What filters happenThe air filter clears air before it will get to the engine. It would Seem, the purer air will get to the engine, the car work will be more powerful. But alas: the majority of racing engines, especially for professional racing cars, is not equipped with air filters. Filters create resistance of air on an admission, and the more resistance, the capacity of the engine is more strongly lost. Usual paper elements have the big resistance to an air stream because the filter material is very dense. Alternative – "íóëeâèêè", filters of the zero resistance, a filtering which material — the cotton gauze passing without decrease of filtering ability at least on 50 % of more air, than usual regular filters.
Myths about «zero»In automobile community the judgement about unsatisfactory ability of a filtration of sports filters at the expense of the reduced resistance to an air stream is very popular. It in a root incorrectly.
Regular air filters the more effectively, than porosity of a material of which they are made there is less. For this reason there is a big resistance to an air stream.
The impregnated cotton filters work absolutely differently. In manufacture of filters of zero resistance the proved scientific principles which define how the air filter deletes particles of a dirt from an air current are applied. The first of these principles is known as "interception" which is applied to the particles of a dirt travelling with an air current. The air stream will always find the shortest path and as air passes through the fibres of the filter some of particles will contact with fibres and will be grasped". These particles will be kept in fibres of a filtering element at the expense of application of special impregnation.
The second principle – «impaction» (compression, collision, blow) which mainly influences the big or heavier particles of a dirt. Inertia or an impulse force a particle to deviate the general air stream: heavy particles do not follow an air current by filter fibres, and instead they get directly to fibres.
The most important principle for filter working out are laws of physics which operate movement of very small particles of a dirt. Small particles are influenced by forces in an air current. For example, forces of high-speed changes, pressure changes, a storm caused by other particles and interaction with air molecules, force very small particles to move casually and chaotically, contrary to the basic air stream. As a result these particles do not follow an air current and their random motion forces them to face filter fibres. The usual paper filter is capable to filter an air stream directly one surface. Unlike usual filters elements of filters of zero resistance have áîëüøee advantage, thanks to the multilayered impregnated surface and the best configuration of an element. The given feature allows the air filter-nuleviku to detain áîëüøee quantity of a dust.
Paper automobile filtersPaper filters are made of the pressed fibres. Air arrives through microscopic apertures between fibres. As soon as fibres get littered, air searches for an additional route. This process is known as superficial loading. The filter surface collects a dirt considerable quantity, resistance to an air stream increases, for there is a smaller quantity of not littered sites of the filter – capacity of the engine and economy of fuel goes down. Proceeding from standards of the minimum filtration, the paper for filtering elements should be very thick, and fibres should be strongly pressed. Therefore paper elements which provide an adequate filtration, have áîëüøee resistance initially.
Filter-nulevika designThe design of the filter of zero resistance is a bit more difficult. The filter of zero resistance consists of several layers of the greased cotton fabric which grasps dirt particles. Dirt particles cling to fibres of the filter and actually become a part of a filtering element. As a result filters of zero resistance filter many times more dust on square inch, than the paper filter. The cotton fabric is clamped in the pressed aluminium screen that increases superficial area of the filter-nulevika. Superficial area of the filter of zero resistance five times more than at a usual element. The particles of a dirt seized by layers of crossed cotton fibres and special oil by which the element is impregnated, practically do not harm to an air stream.
As the admission system worksBy working out of filters íóëeâèêîâ the special attention was given to the regular case of air system, the hoses connecting the case of the filter with the carburettor or throttle çàñëîíêîé of the engine. The matter is that air at first passes on all labyrinths of system of an admission, and only then gets to the carburettor or throttle çàñëîíêó. The configuration of system of an admission seriously influences an air stream. As air streams are similar to water various barriers of type of a sharp bend in a hose negatively influence air giving. In certain cases, regular system of an admission – the biggest source of restriction of giving of air. An entrance aperture in the case of the regular filter – a good example.
