Back in February, BMW announced the introduction of a new Performance Power Kit for the BMW 135i Coupe and 335i models. BMW performance power kit was announced to include both software and hardware components that will give a boost to the existing models.

No pricing or additional information were released back then, but last week, BMW released an internal memo containing more information regarding the Power Kit, including pricing. As we mentioned back in February, the upgrade will come with a hefty price and it seems we were on the right track.

Will the performance boost overcome the high price tag? Lets learn some more about the BMW Performance Power Kit.

The first rumors of a BMW Z10 model were encountered back in March when the UK based magazine Autocar wrote an article on the EfficientDynamics supercar being developed by BMW. The rumormill was mentioning a Vision Concept as the base for this smaller car with more modern styling than the Z8. Some CS Concept design cues were also rumored to be featured on the Z10 ED.

Several months later and Automobile Magazine does a follow up story on the BMW Z10 and brings upfront more inside information from the Munich based automaker. The Z10 is being engineered as a coupe and a roadster and with a target weight of 3,300 lbs. While the original plans included the powerful twin-turbo V8, recent developments shifted the strategy towards efficiency and a smaller, but still powerful six cylinder 3.0 liter twin-turbo engine is in the game.

On September 8, 1994, the first US made BMW 318i rolled off the line in Spartanburg, SC. Today, 15 years to the day later, BMW Manufacturings 1.5 millionth vehicle rolled off the line to celebrate 15 years of manufacturing excellence.

The1.5 millionth vehicle, driven in the ceremony by Associate Eileen Huffman, is a 2009 Monaco Blue BMW X6 xDrive 35i with oyster interior. The vehicle is right-hand drive and has been ordered by a customer in Hong Kong.

In addition to remarks by South Carolinas Secretary of Commerce, Joe Taylor; Sky Foster and Ryan Childers, the BMW associates that presented the Spartanburg factorys first vehicle to the world in September 1994 also reflected on their 15 years with BMW Manufacturing.

The BMW Z4 Roadster has been considered for years one of the most passionate cars in the BMW line-up and the all-new 2009 Z4 extends that feeling even further. With every roadster built, BMWs ultimate goal is to connect the driver with the car, offering that famed Sheer Driving Pleasure.

Along with the more elegant and cohesive design, the new Z4 features some of the latest technologies developed by BMW. In a competitive segment dominated by roadsters from Porsche, Mercedes and Audi, BMW needed to demonstrate its ability to build high-performance cars that will sell not only based on style, but mostly on dynamics and pleasure of driving.

Going Green has supposedly been the hip thing to do for the last few years. At first, you had celebrities who were early adopters of vehicles such as the Toyota Prius or even the BMW Hydrogen 7. Other alternative energy vehicles have come along in the meantime with the Chevy Volt, Tesla Roadster and the Fisker Karma styled and built by former BMW Z8 designer Henrik Fisker.However, Most of these Green vehicles have impractical or somewhat half-baked ideas of vehicles that are unattractive and ultimately cause more environmental harm than they supposedly prevent with the ingredients and byproducts that go into the their manufacture. With regard to hydrogen-powered and fully electric vehicles, you get into the issue of infrastructure that must be in place to service vehicles something that doesnt come cheap and isnt a quick fix. It would seem that nobody has come up with the fix for an energy crisis for what our world around us would require.

BMWs EfficientDynamics programs is inspiring graphic artists around the world. Taking a different approach, Stefan Radev, introduces the Blue Dynamics Land Yacht, a conceptual design of a wind powered vehicle running on three wheels and a sail.

Purely an exercise and not sponsored by BMW, the renderings show a premium version of a sail car/land yacht that combines the distinctive style and emotional character of a BMW with the exclusiveness of a yacht, powered by an environmental force- wind.

Back in July, we had the opportunity to drive and review for you the new BMW X6 M. Our first impressions of the first M all-wheel drive vehicle from BMW were positive and the car has lived up to its expectations. But some people called us fanboys and the debate about what a true BMW M car is, continued. Some people were already putting a big failure stamp on the X6 M future sales, despite the fact that we reinforced the niche market the X6 M is targeting and BMWs goals for this car.
